This is our family's favorite cookie recipe. Not a fancy cookie, but really addictive. I was looking for the recipe today and had a scare when I couldn't find it in its normal spot in my binder that's falling apart, so I thought I'd better preserve it here. Hope you like it!
Here's a simple recipe to make your own, healthier hot chocolate mix. There are only three ingredients, which you may already have in your pantry. You might want to include a little bag of this in a decorative mug for a Valentine's gift!
Raclette is both a type of cheese and the name of a meal created using a special table-top grill that also allows the diners to broil food in little pans below the grill top. Using a raclette grill is a fun, relaxing, and warm way to have a dinner with your family and friends. I especially like to do raclette dinners in the long, cold months of January and February when it seems people need to come together and lift their moods through friendship and good food.
This unusual and wonderful taste combination was inspired by the Hachez Mango Chili chocolate bar. My son Connor created it as his entry in a local brownie contest. He didn't win (a boxed mix with modifications did!), but he had a wonderful time testing variations on the recipe and the final result was a deliciously new flavor of brownie.
Try foods from other cultures by starting an international cooking club. Many of my friends are from other countries and we've started to meet monthly and take turns hosting the lunch. You could accomplish the same sort of thing with a willing group of same-culture friends and some international recipes from the internet or a cookbook, like the one pictured here.
